Joshua is a very caring person and is particularly committed to helping humanitarian charities. He has done a lot of work for The International Red Cross and has made himself available over these last five years. This has included composing and performing his works. Joshua regularly receives requests to perform at Charity events and he is delighted to help. Joshua's significant works since he turned professional for humanitarian causes have included;--Anti Slavery International- Joshua's second musical commission was for Anti Slavery International in October 2003 called Released to Eden. On Saturday December 6th 2003 Joshua then played his compositions to a packed hall at The Savoy Hotel London.-The International Red Cross- In November 2003 Joshua was commissioned to compose a piece of moving music for The International Red Cross. On Monday 14th June 2004, Joshua performed this piece at The Foreign Office for The Red Cross at their International Gala Night. The guests of honour included most Foreign Ambassadors to London, members of Royalty and other very auspicious guests. Guests first enjoyed a concert provided by celebrated world class musicians. Joshua then performed the final act of the evening. His composition was created especially to accompany The International Red Cross film. This was displayed on two giant screens and depicted the work carried out by The International Red Cross in 2003 around the globe. After a poignant silence Joshua received a standing ovation! Joshua works with Kathmandu Arts, a charity raising funds to open a contemporary arts school and exhibition space in Nepal. Joshua performed a benefit at St Pauls, The Actors Church, in Covent Garden London.Joshua was supposed to play for just twenty minutes at this benefit, sharing the main billing with Nepal's leading folk artists. In fact the audiance would not let him stop playing and he continued for about an hour until the organisers intervened. |
